About the Mother Shipton This moth is fairly common in a variety of habitats. However, because it is a day-flyer and does not enter moth traps, it tends not to be recorded very often. The wing markings have a resemblance to two witches faces (looking at each other in the photograph) and this gave rise to the vernacular name. Back.
