About the Six-belted Clearwing

This clearwing moth is common in some parts of Flintshire and Denbighshire. There needs to be abundant Bird's-foot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus) such as may be found in non-agricultural areas where the grass is mown only occasionally. The paths and verges in industrial areas and in quarries provide perfect habitat. The moth responds very quickly to the aproppriate pheromone lure.
